SUPPLIES
  • Clear mid-size jar or plastic container, (e.g., a rice container)
  • Diego Family Charity Bank Decorations
  • Scissors
  • Double-sided tape (optional)
  • Sticker paper
  • DIRECTIONS

    · Step 1: Find an empty, clear jar in your house. Remove any labels so that the whole jar is transparent.

    · Step 2: Measure the height of the main bulky part (the part that’s in one unvaried shape, such as a cube or a cylinder) of the jar. Use this number as the height of the jar’s inner background.

    · Step 3: Measure the perimeter of the main part. Depending on the thickness of the jar’s wall, deduct 1 to 2 inches from that number as the width of the jar’s inner background.

    · Step 4: Print the one-sheet background image and cut out the right portion based on the width and height that you just calculated.

    · Step 5: Roll up the rectangular image (image on the outside) and place it inside the jar. In case of a round-shaped jar, the paper will automatically take up the space in the jar, adhere to the inner wall and create a gap that allows you to peek into the jar. In case of a square-shaped jar, for the best results, cut four segments of double-sided tape and place them at four corners. This way, the background paper would adhere to the walls closely.

    · Step 6: Print and cut out the stickers on sticker paper. Stick the images to the outside of the jar up and down along where the gap is. Once your family members’ ongoing contribution starts, the stickers will give kids a visual measurement of where they are and how far they need to go.

    · Step 7: Time to chip in!
