SUPPLIES
  • Diego Egg Template
  • Brown crayon
  • Red crayon
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Fine black marker
  • Large plastic orange egg, about 3 1/2 inches tall
  • Fun fur in brown
  • Orange felt or construction paper
  • Green craft foam or construction paper
  • Stapler or clear adhesive tape
  • DIRECTIONS

    ·  Step 1: For the Face: Using the Diego Egg Template, have kids cut out the eyes and mouth. Glue them onto the egg. With the black marker, draw eyebrows and a nose.

    ·  Step 2: For the hair: From the fun fur, cut a 4- by 2-inch strip. With scissors, create jagged cuts for the bangs. Glue the hair onto the head, draping it across the top of the egg.

    ·  Step 3: For the ears: From the orange felt, cut two small crescent shapes. Drag their cut edges through a dot of glue and press them onto the side of the egg.

    ·  Step 4: For the safari vest: From green craft foam or construction paper, cut a 1- by 7-inch strip. Cut a small tab at its center (for beneath Diego’s chin). Curl the strip and staple or tape it closed. Set Diego in the loop.
